Probate

Probate is when you get your "letters". You are apart of the Fraternity or Sorority. During a designated time period you are put through many test to see how much you know o how much you want to become apart of a certain fraternity or sorority. During this process nobody should know what is going on or if you are considering to pledge. After that time period the Greek's have a probate. This is where the school friends. family and others come to see who has crossed.

More about the Divine Nine

The Divine Nine are taken more seriously at HBCU's( Historically Black Colleges Universities) than at any other higher learning institute. The main reason for this is due to the number of African American students that attend HBCU's. Black colleges and Universities have tradition they like to keep alive at there facilities. For an example Greek Life. Some students parents were Greeks so it's the student's job to keep the  tradition alive in their family. If a student's parents were Greek they are called "legacy." It is know that no matter what your situation if your parents are legacy's then you are automatically apart of the fraternity or sorority.
